Logan fits into the family like a puzzle piece

And Baby Makes Three

Hi all! Just a quick update on life with Logan.

It’s hard to believe Logan has only been in our lives a couple months; we honestly don’t know what we did before him.  He fits into our family like a little puzzle piece.  It’s funny how many times we here people say how much he looks like us, particularly Leodis.  But just more confirmation that God created this little boy especially for us.

Born at six pounds 10 ounces, he’s now grown to a very healthy eleven pounds, four ounces.  He eats likes he’s racing, and never misses a meal. He’s still in a bassinet in our room for nights and occasionally ends up in our bed before morning. But hopefully in the next month or so, we’ll have the heart to move him to his own bed in his room, he’s quickly outgrowing the bassinet.

Logan has Leodis eating out of the palm of his hand.  Leodis has changed a few diapers and gotten up for a few late night feedings.  But he mostly enjoys picking Logan up from daycare in the evenings and giving him lots of hugs and kisses.

Thanks for all your love and support,

Leodis & Deonna

Gabby is a big fan of the camera!

Capture the Moment

Gabby is doing great!  She already weighs 8 pounds, 3 ounces and has grown two inches!  She is so full of smiles and if she could, she would be talking up a storm already!

She is extremely alert and aware of everything going on around her.  She likes to listen to her Baby Einstein Lullaby CD and she falls asleep to it every night.  She absolutely loves taking baths and throws a "diva" fit when bathtime is over.  Her big brother and sister can't get enough of her and the same goes for all of her grandparents, aunts and uncles.  She gets more beautiful with every day that passes and we still can't believe that she is ours!  We take pictures of her almost every single day and she is a big fan of the camera, always ready for a picture!

We are so overjoyed and amazed at God's wonder and love and we just hope that Gabby's birthmother knows how she changed our lives.

Our Special Joy

Hello Veronica!

What a wonderful eight months since we were blessed with Isaac! He is a special joy each and every day and we can't thank you enough for everything you did to bring him to us!

He's a happy eight month old with two new teeth and a huge grin. He loves music and playing the piano with daddy is a favorite way to pass the time.

Thank you again for all that you do!

Courage Emmanuel brings joy into the home of Tom and Michelle

The Greatest Miracle of All

Wow, God is so good! From the moment we began this incredible journey to the moment we laid eyes on our little guy, God was completely in charge.

Adoption is an amazing and emotional journey that can present highs and lows and everything in between. Our journey was no different. Every time we felt like despair, confusion, paperwork, and time was overwhelming us, we were reminded to surrender our plan to God because this was His plan. When we did surrender, God kept arranging everything into this awesome master plan that we look back at and wonder why we were ever worried. In the moments where we were troubled this verse calmed us and reminded us of who was in control. Matthew 14:27 "But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I, Don't be afraid."

We knew from looking back at our past that God has done amazing things in our lives, yet, just like the disciples in the moment of fear we forget where our strength comes from. So, because this verse was so inspirational for us we decided to name our amazing little boy "Courage Emmanuel" meaning "courage, God is with us!" Our prayer is that all the adoptive families who are still on the journey to be matched with their little piece of heaven, will never forget to call on the One who makes all this possible. Then stand back and wait for His awesome master plan to be revealed to you. We are absolutely in love with Courage and the joy he brings into our home is more than we could have imagined!

Much Love & Aloha,
Tom, Michelle, Sean, Jaylin, Promise, Trust, & Courage Emmanuel

Derrick and Tarsha's bundle of joy

Our Bundle of Joy

Hello Veronica and Lifetime family,

We are pleased to announce that our family has been blessed with a bundle of joy named Brennan Caleb.

The meeting of his birthmother was a joyous one. She has been a blessing to us and we could not have asked for a better child. We have found a life-long friend in her. We would tell the other families that are waiting that the right child is waiting of you, do not give up or feel that God has forgotten about you! So once again we would like to thank the Lifetime Family.

Phillip Davis is a dream come true!

Our Prayers Answered

We are truly blessed!

At the beginning of our adoption journey, we were very nervous and intimidated with making profiles. Once that was complete, followed by our home study, the wait began.

Once we were matched with our birthmother, we got to go to a prenatal appointment with her and verify everything was fine with the baby. We were able to meet again for lunch to get to know the birthmother and birthfather a little better. Turns out the four of us had a lot in common! What hit home for us is the birthfather stating that we were an answer to their prayers.

Two weeks after our lunch date, we got a call that the birth mother was in labor. We were able to be at the hospital while the birth mom had a c-section. She had already notified the staff of the adoption plan so when they brought him to the nursery we were able to hold him right away, give him his first feeding, change the first diaper, and have our very own room for two and a half days. While in the hospital we were able to visit the birth parents and they held the baby. Both continued to thank us for adopting him and expressed to us how hard this is, but that they knew it was the best thing for the baby. The birth mom also stated that she wanted to see him for some closure.

It has been two months now and Phillip-David is our dream come true. He has brought our family and all those who care about us so much joy! We still talk to the birth parents about two times a month. We can truly say that we have come to love his birth parents and will forever have gratitude in our hearts for the gift they trusted us with.

To every one still waiting: never trust man alone, but always trust God. You never know what He is up to. Thank you Lifetime, for being there through the joys and heartaches. You made this process so much more enjoyable than doing it alone. We are grateful for the time, effort, and dedication that you provide.

With Love,
Jason and Tamara

Eva was a wonderful flower girl!

My Model Flower Girl

Hey Veronica!
Here is a picture of Eva when she was a flower girl this year.  She was such a pro she went down the aisle with her flowers, like she was a model. She even had to help the other flower girl go down the aisle who was three years older than her and crying.

Her teachers say that she is a model student and very smart.  They sometimes ask her to help her classmates when they don't understand their teacher!  I thank everyone at Lifetime for during the work I know God has set you all to do.  To all the waiting families you are in my prayers.  God has heard your prayers and will provide you with the child that is meant only for your family.

Always,
Anita

Arthur and Juanita's angel

Our Delightful Handful

Hello Veronica,
Angel is a still an “angel” for the most part. She is talking and doing everything a two year old is suppose to do. Angel is being stubborn about potty training, but hopefully she will have it together soon. She is a delightful handful!

Izabel and her proud big brother Vincent

A Lifetime of Memories

Hello from the Sean and LaLeche in Texas. It's amazing how time zooms past, not only when a new baby arrives but when we now have two kids to chase!

We just finalized Izabel's adoption. The proceeding happened so fast, we wanted them to do it again as an instant replay!

Izabel is growing like a jungle weed - fastly approaching eight months old, she's 18 lbs 1 oz; 27.5 in long.  Everyone comments on  how much she looks just like us; it's amazing.  She does look like Vincent at this age a little.  It was meant to be!

Izabel is growing like a jungle weed!

She said "da-da" for Thanksgiving, "ba-ba" for Christmas, & "MA-MA" for New Years. She has lots of other sounds in there as well and has recently started saying what sounds like "Tex" (the dog's name) and "stop" (I say that to Vincent and the dog often).

Vincent still adores her and she just lights up every time she sees her big brother.  He has adjusted wonderfully to his new role.

She's also turning into a daddy's girl - and that's fine by me!  We took her first trip for Thanksgiving to my home in Mississippi.  Everyone got to see her: we even flew my great-grandmother in from Detroit: five generations was home for the holidays! We are truly blessed.

Thank you again, we can't say it enough, for helping us become parents to the most wonderful little girl that God sent to Earth.  It was just a matter of time before she came to us for a Lifetime of memories and joy. It is a blessing to be their parents.

TEXAS-SIZED love, hugs, & kisses,
LaLeche, Sean, Vincent, and Izabel

Sarah loves getting her picture taken!

Say "Cheese"

Here is a photo of Sarah over the holidays...what a difference a year makes! Now when we take her picture, Sarah says "CHEEEEZE", and then wants to see the picture on the back of the camera.

At two years old, her world only knows digital cameras, it never occurs to her that a picture would need to be developed...

Happy New Year!

Angels Amongst Us

Hello Diane & Mardie,

It's that special time of year again and wanted to take a minute or two to thank you for making our dreams come true!  Another year has flown by and we were just thinking that without all of you at Lifetime we wouldn't be the family we are.  It's been a blessed six and a half years.  You have blessed us not just not once but twice and feel that you are the living Angels amongst us.

For those waiting, keep praying.  Remember it will happen in God's time, and if anyone can help guide you your family, Lifetime will.

Our Christmas Angels

Dear Lifetime Staff and families,
Over the past five years, we have had contact with everyone at Lifetime. Our adoption journeys, with our two Lifetime babies, were as unique as they are and yet, so much the same!

We are so in love with our family! Words will never express the gratitude we have to your staff. Our prayers are with all the birth mothers and families over the holidays. We have been blessed by two Lifetime babies; Liam in 2004 and Kathleen in 2008. God's timing is always perfect!

The Lifetime family will always be connected to ours! All of our prayers for a beautiful Holiday Season!

Jayden, Devon, and Simone; Jason and Desiree's blessings

Season's Greetings

Dear Libby and everyone at Lifetime,
We have had an incredibly busy year! Having finalized Jayden's Lifetime adoption last year, we decided to adopt another child. We prayed for God to bring us a child, whoever needed us the most.

Our prayers were answered when we got the call asking if we could help two children through the fost/adopt system. The blessings Devon and Simone arrived at our door shortly after. Our home is so full of love, life, and lots of noise!

May God bless you all and may you have a wonderful holiday season!

Love,
Jason & Desiree

I'm the Big Sister

Peyton is now the proud big sister of little Noah.  He was born a month and a half early but he is perfect in every way and we couldn't be happier and couldn't be more blessed.   We would absolutely consider adopting again in the future and we would absolutely contact Lifetime!  Hope all is well on your end.

Issac is a smiling, jumping, gurgling bundle of joy

Bundle of Joy!

Hello Veronica,

Just a quick update on our family: everything is fabulous! Isaac is a true joy and we can't imagine how life was without him! He's a smiling, jumping, gurgling bundle of joy! We communicate with other prospective Lifetime families and all I can tell them is it's all worth it in the end. It's stressful, but we've forgotten all of that now, his smile wipes it all away. We feel so much love and joy now that we would like to begin expanding our family so Isaac has siblings.

Thanks again for everything you've done for us,

Lyn and Michael
